Upcoming bokashi and EM events

Details of each event are below the following summary list:


Tuesday 6/2 Bokashi Workshop 6:30 pm - 8 pm
Campos garden
at Campos Community Garden
East 12th St between Ave B & C (middle of the block, south side of the street)

Every Wednesday Bokashi Workday 10:30 am - 12 noon
El Sol Brillante
at El Sol Brillante 12th St between Ave A & B (middle of the block, south side of the street)
and the Children's Garden (12th St & Ave B, southwest corner).
♿ Wheelchair accessible (Note: the gardens are at ground level, but pathways in the garden are not even.)
We'll be going back and forth between the two gardens treating, fermenting food waste (FFW), trenching FFW, feeding earthworms, and/or making bokashi.


Wednesday 6/3 Bokashi & EM Get Together 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
at the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy
75 Battery Place, New York NY 10280

Adam Choper and Sandra Power will show us their facility and operations.
If you would like to see your compost under a microscope, please bring a sample.
We will have a tour during the first hour, and in the second hour, we'll look at samples and have fermented drinks and snacks.
The activated ProEM-1 we made during the 4/1/15 get-together using ProEM-1 (the EM made for human consumption) will be ready to try.
If you have some fermented foods or drinks you would like to share. You can also bring snacks and drinks if you like.

Sunday 6/7 The MudBall Village Ephemeral Piazza and
the Stockpile of Beneficial Mud Balls (and Throwing of the Mudballs)
1 pm - 4 pm

Presented by the Masters of Succession Collective (MoS Collective)
at Figment NYC,
on Governors Island by the river near Castle Williams.

From Manhattan: the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street, next to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan.
From Brooklyn: Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, at the foot of Atlantic Avenue.

♿ Ferry and all paths are wheelchair accessible.
There will be various activities by our area by the MoS Collective (aside from that done by various other groups participating in Figment NYC throughout Governors Island). Our activities will include throwing of the mudballs that were made during the Spring Beneficial Mudball Ball (5/24/2015). The beneficial mudballs (or EM Mudballs) were made with soil, bokashi, Activated EM and blackstrap molasses.
