Tuesday 5/5 Bokashi Presentation 7-9 pm
at Sustainable Jersey City's Monthly Meeting: Eat, Meet, Talk!
at Jersey City City Hall

This meeting will be all about bokashi with a slide show presentation.

Every Wednesday Bokashi Workday 10:30 am - 12 noon
at El Sol Brillante 12th St between Ave A & B (middle of the block, south side of the street) and Children's Garden (12th St & Ave B, southwest corner).
We'll be going back and forth between the two gardens treating, fermenting food waste (FFW), trenching FFW, feeding earthworms, and/or making bokashi.


Wednesday 5/6 Bokashi & EM Get Together 7-9 pm
at the 14th Street Y
344 E 14th St, Room 201 (west off 1st Ave, south side of street)

We will make a fermented fruit drink using EM (Effective Microorganisms).
The Activated EM we made during our last get together using ProEM-1 (the EM made for human consumption) will be ready to try.
If you have some fermented foods or drinks you would like to bring to share, please let us know. You can also bring snacks and drinks if you like.

This group meets monthly to share experiences and know-how on bokashi and EM (Effective Microorganisms).

at the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) Compost Yard
south of the Ampitheater in East River Park, New York, NY 10002

OpenBin NYC 2015 events will be happening throughout the city, and our bokashi tabling and presentation will occur at the LESEC site.
The bokashi presentation/workshop will start at 12 noon.
From LESEC's announcement:
"From 10am to 2pm at the inaugural OpenBinNYC event, enjoy a first-hand look at the East River Compost Yard and its one-of-a-kind in-vessel compost system. The hardworking staff of the NYC Compost Project hosted at the Lower East Side Ecology Center will be on hand to lead tours at 10, 10:30, and 1pm, and offer composting workshops at 11 and 12 noon. Weekend Bokashi Workdays

Sunday 5/24 The Spring Mudball Ball 3-7 pm
The Masters of Succession Collective (MoScollective.net) presents the Ephemeral Piazza & the Mudball Ball
at El Jardin del Paraiso Community Garden
4th Street, entrance also on 5th Street, between Ave C & D (middle of the block, northside of the street)
There will be many kinds of various activities, including making mudballs using bokashi, activated EM and dirt. After the mudballs are made and let to ferment (for about 2 weeks), they will be ready to be thrown into the Hudson River off of Governors Island during Figment NYC on June 7, 2015.
